Wow, how is it already Monday again?! Did everyone have a great weekend? I spent Saturday unpacking and getting everything back in order after my trip and we also helped Evan's parents unpack after they had to move because of the hurricane. We went to church and I tried to wrap up all the random tasks on my to do list. I did manage to bake some brownies, put out my new fall candle, decorate for fall and get the first pumpkin chili of the season made though! But now onto today's post...
It's Friday and usually that calls for a happy dance, but to be honest it's a little bittersweet. I'll be heading home today after being able to spend a few weeks with my new nephew and the rest of my family. It's been so so so much fun and I'll definitely miss all the sweet baby cuddles, how little he is and getting to play with my other nephew. Sadly all good trips must come to an end, but I'm so blessed to have been able to spend this time up North and get just a small taste of fall.

Keurig, French press, siphon or Italian style, I appreciate a freshly brewed cup of coffee (or two if I'm feeling crazy) in the morning. I can function without coffee, though it makes mornings slightly less enjoyable. Obviously as a coffee drinker, I've heard the good, the bad and the ugly about this controversial beverage, but at the end of the day it still seems like there are more benefits than drawbacks to drinking coffee. So for bit of light morning reading today, here are 5 fun facts I learned about coffee that should make you feel better about pouring yourself a cup of joe.

And with the arrival of fall that means I'm gearing up for a calendar full of all kinds of fall fun.

Happy September! The somewhat terrible month of August is finally over! I'm ready to put the craziness of the hurricane behind me and my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has been affected. If you're able, please think about donating to JJ Watt's Flood fund or the Houston Food Bank. I know that together we will be able to rebuild the city to be even bigger and better than before. All I can say it that I'm ready for the fresh, crisp air of fall and all the new opportunities that September will bring.
